January and the Winter Blast
This January had been a life changing month. I have experienced thing that I would never thought that I would ever experience; mostly the the recant arctic blast that all of central Illinois has been experiencing. This winter has been the worst that I have ever weathered in my entire life. We have had record snow amounts, record lows, and record snow days. It really works out well that I am a senior this year. The winter not only effects my mood, but what I am actually willing to do. The best memories of my life have been in the summer. Sweet summertime. This winter I have had to find many alternative things to do. The thing I hate about winter is that you have to spend money to entertain yourself. It really bothers me. But me and my friends do a lot of now lately it seems like. I just can't wait until its warm out, and we can entertain ourselves with out spending any money. This winter we have done a lot of sitting in our homes, drinking mostly. We go out to dinner too much, and even go out to the movies too much. I just wish there was more to do in Springfield during the winter.
I am thankful for a lot this winter as well. I still live in my wonderful lake home. And even in the winter, it looks fantastic. I am involved in a musical, and work. I have a steady income, so I actually can afford to entertain myself this winter. I am thankful for keeping a strong optimism. There are some weaknesses in life as well, but winter is huge one that we all must deal with.
